Land Rover & Jaguar Coolant Leak Repair in Tampa

Losing coolant, seeing a low-coolant warning, or concerned about the pipes on your supercharged engine? AutoWorks of Tampa repairs Jaguar and Land Rover cooling systems, with a vehicle-specific diagnosis and a written repair plan before work begins.

Bring us the vehicle, not a guess about which part it needs. We can discuss a focused leak repair or a broader cooling-system refresh based on the findings, service history, and how you plan to use the vehicle.

5507 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL 33604. Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.

A coolant warning is a reason to investigate, not just refill

Tell us what changed: a low-coolant message, a recent top-up, a visible leak, or an overheating event. We want to know whether the problem appeared suddenly, whether another cooling-system repair was recently completed, and what happened before the warning.

If the engine is overheating, pull over safely, shut it off, and arrange assistance. Do not open a hot coolant reservoir. Call before driving the vehicle to us if you are unsure whether it is safe.

Coolant crossover-pipe diagnosis and replacement

Jaguar bulletin JTB00566NAS4 documents a coolant-leak condition involving a weakness in the plastic weld process of coolant pipes on specified supercharged 3.0L V6 and 5.0L V8 F-TYPE, XF, and XJ vehicles. The bulletin describes coolant leaking from the engine compartment and a possible engine-overheat message; it does not say that every coolant warning is a failed pipe (Jaguar technical bulletin hosted by NHTSA).

Replacement-pipe options also exist for selected Land Rover applications, but engine configuration and part fitment matter. One supplier expressly limits its metal-pipe kit to supercharged engines and excludes the naturally aspirated 5.0L (application restrictions).

We use your VIN, engine, installed parts, and inspection findings to decide what belongs on your estimate. A known failure pattern is a place to start, not permission to replace parts without checking.

From finding the leak to completing the repair

  • Identify the vehicle and history: Tell us the model, year, mileage, symptoms, and any previous cooling-system work. Send the VIN if you have it.
  • Investigate the concern: The diagnostic plan may include pressure testing, inspection of accessible components, and further access where the suspected leak cannot be seen.
  • Explain the findings: We distinguish the work needed to address the current concern from additional work worth considering while components are accessible.
  • Agree on the scope: Your written estimate identifies the parts and labor for your vehicle. Additional findings require a discussion, not an automatic expansion of the job.
  • Complete and verify the repair: The repair plan includes the applicable coolant refill and air-removal procedure, followed by checks appropriate to the work performed.

The manufacturer’s pipe-replacement procedure includes substantial access work, attention to seals, and approved coolant on the vehicles it covers. That is why we quote the complete job rather than the price of a pipe alone (Jaguar repair procedure).

Fix the leak or refresh the system?

There is no single answer for every car. We will discuss the condition of the surrounding components and your repair history before recommending a broader package.

Repair approach What we discuss with you
Targeted repair Address the diagnosed fault and the seals, fluids, and access work required to complete that repair.
Coordinated cooling-system refresh Consider related pipes, water pump, thermostat, hoses, or belts where condition, history, and actual labor overlap justify the additional work.
Investigation after overheating Establish what further testing is needed before assuming a coolant-leak repair will resolve the entire concern.

A cooling-system refresh is an agreed list of components, not a promise to replace everything. Your estimate should make clear which pipes are included, which parts are being reused, and what testing is planned.

Where aluminum coolant pipes fit

Metal-pipe options are available for certain supercharged Jaguar and Land Rover engines, but a supplier’s “upgrade” description is not a substitute for checking the exact application (example supplier fitment information). Ask us to compare suitable replacement choices for your VIN, including the manufacturer, affected pipe positions, and warranty terms.

Your estimate lists what is being replaced, what is being reused, and the warranty applicable to the selected parts and labor.

Vehicles and engine fitment

This page focuses on coolant-leak repair and pipe-replacement options for selected supercharged 3.0L V6 and 5.0L V8 Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. A model badge or displacement alone is not enough to select a repair package.

Have a Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, LR4, Discovery, Velar, F-TYPE, XF, XJ, or another Jaguar/Land Rover model? Send the VIN so we can identify your engine and assess the appropriate repair route. These model names are not a blanket fitment guarantee.

Naturally aspirated engines, diesel engines, newer inline-six engines, and other powertrains need their own assessment. We will not assume a supercharged-engine pipe kit applies to them.

What does coolant-leak repair cost?

We quote by vehicle and confirmed scope rather than publishing one price for every Jaguar and Land Rover. The cost depends on access, the diagnosed fault, the selected parts, related seals and fluids, and any additional work you authorize.

When you call, ask about the diagnostic charge for your concern. We will explain the next step and provide the repair estimate before you authorize the work.

Jaguar and Land Rover cooling-system questions

Can AutoWorks repair a Land Rover or Jaguar coolant leak in Tampa?

Yes. AutoWorks of Tampa handles Jaguar and Land Rover cooling-system repair at our North Nebraska Avenue shop. Start with your VIN, symptoms, and any previous repair information so we can plan the assessment.

Does a low-coolant message mean the crossover pipe has failed?

Not by itself. We use the message as the starting point for diagnosis, not as authorization to install a pipe. Tell us whether the level has been dropping and whether the vehicle recently had cooling-system work.

Can I drive to the shop if the engine has overheated?

Do not continue driving an overheating vehicle. Pull over safely, shut the engine off, and arrange assistance; call us to discuss the situation before attempting to drive here. Never remove a hot coolant-reservoir cap.

Can you quote from my VIN before I bring the vehicle in?

The VIN helps us identify the engine and discuss likely repair options. It cannot tell us where your vehicle is leaking or whether other work is needed, so a final repair recommendation depends on the assessment.

Do you offer aluminum replacement coolant pipes?

Ask us about suitable metal-pipe options for your exact vehicle. Application restrictions vary, and a kit intended for a supercharged engine must not be assumed to fit a naturally aspirated version (supplier restrictions).

Does every coolant-pipe quote include the same pipes?

No. Jaguar’s cited bulletin identifies upper and lower coolant outlet pipes. Other quotes may include different pipe positions or related hoses. Your estimate should name the exact parts included rather than relying only on the phrase “crossover pipes.”

Should the water pump and thermostat be replaced at the same time?

We will discuss that after reviewing their condition, history, and the actual access involved. They are options to evaluate, not automatic additions to every pipe repair.

Does every 3.0L or 5.0L Jaguar/Land Rover use the same package?

No. We confirm the engine configuration and part application rather than selecting parts by displacement alone. Published upgrade-kit restrictions distinguish supercharged and naturally aspirated engines (fitment example).

Is this the same as a coolant flush?

Our leak-repair assessment and a routine fluid-service request are different scopes. Tell us whether you are seeking scheduled maintenance, investigating coolant loss, or responding to overheating so we can book the right service.

Can I request a preventive cooling-system refresh?

Yes. Bring your service records and tell us how long you intend to keep the vehicle. We can discuss inspection-led recommendations and which additional components, if any, are sensible to address together.

Will replacing the pipes fix damage from overheating?

We will not assume that it will. Tell us how long the engine ran after the warning and whether it lost power or stopped; we will explain any further evaluation recommended before proceeding.

How long will my vehicle be at the shop?

We provide a timing estimate after confirming the required diagnosis, repair scope, and parts availability. We do not promise same-day completion for a job that has not yet been assessed.

What warranty applies?

AutoWorks advertises a 36-month/36,000-mile nationwide warranty. Ask your advisor to confirm the coverage and eligibility for your selected parts and repair on the estimate or repair order before approving the work (AutoWorks warranty information).

Is the Jaguar technical bulletin a recall?

The cited document is a technical service bulletin with a specified vehicle range and repair procedure, not a blanket free-repair offer. Its warranty section says normal warranty procedures apply (JTB00566NAS4).
