ABS light, traction-control light, or limp mode on your Jeep? We diagnose it, fix it in Tampa, and get you back on the road.

Is This You?
Your Jeep’s ABS light will not go off. Maybe the traction-control light joined it. Maybe the speedometer is dropping to zero, the cruise will not set, or the vehicle slips into limp mode on the highway.
You took it to the dealer. They pulled a code—possibly C2200—said the ABS module was the problem, quoted somewhere between $2,000 and $4,000, and then told you the part was on national backorder with no confirmed release date.
That is not a rare story. Hundreds of Jeep owners have signed a petition asking Mopar to address the shortage of Wrangler ABS modules, with many reports involving 2011–2018 JK models.
You do not have to wait for a backordered new part. Bring the complete Jeep to AutoWorks of Tampa. We diagnose the fault and, when the module is the problem, rebuild and reinstall your original unit while the vehicle stays local.
We Diagnose Before We Condemn the Module
An ABS light does not automatically mean a $2,000 module. Before quoting a repair, we scan the vehicle, physically inspect the ABS harness and connectors, confirm power and ground, and verify wheel-speed sensors when the codes point that way.
| Code | What It Usually Means |
|---|---|
| C2200 | Internal fault in the ABS control module itself. This is the strongest module-failure indicator, but we still confirm power, ground, connectors, and code status before quoting the repair. |
| C100A / C1015 / C1020 | Wheel-speed sensor circuit fault—left front, right front, or left rear. Often caused by a sensor, wiring problem, hub-bearing tone ring, or corroded connector and usually a much smaller repair than a module. |
| C121C | “Torque request signal denied.” This is a system-interaction code. We diagnose the companion codes and connectors rather than condemning the module in isolation. |
| U0121 | Lost communication with the ABS module. Power, ground, CAN wiring, or the module may be responsible, so the wiring path is checked first. |
| U0415 | Implausible data received from the ABS system. This is a network or data-plausibility code—not proof that the module has failed. |
Our diagnostic is $149.99. If the confirmed repair is the module, the $149.99 is credited toward it and you receive a written total before work begins. If the fault is a sensor, hub, connector, or wiring repair, we quote that job separately.
What Our Jeep ABS Module Repair Includes
When our diagnosis shows that the ABS control module has failed and Mopar cannot supply a new part in a reasonable timeframe, this is exactly what happens:
- Remove: We remove the ABS control module from your Jeep. Your Jeep stays at our Tampa shop; only the module travels.
- Rebuild: We coordinate a specialist bench rebuild of your original module, helping preserve its original coding.
- Reinstall: We reinstall your rebuilt original module in the Jeep.
- Initialize: We complete the required wiTECH 2 initialization and brake-pedal calibration in-house.
- Verify: We road-test the vehicle and perform a post-repair scan to confirm that the system is functioning correctly.
AutoWorks operates a licensed wiTECH 2 subscription with Stellantis Secure Gateway access. You do not have to take the vehicle to a dealer for programming after the repair. If unexpected work becomes necessary, we call for authorization before exceeding the written estimate.

What We Do Not Do—and Why It Matters
We are not a mail-in module repair service. We do not accept modules shipped to us from other states, and we do not ship rebuilt modules back to DIY customers. Every job begins with a complete vehicle dropped off at 5507 N Nebraska Ave in Tampa.
A mail-in repair leaves three important steps on you: determining whether the module is actually the problem, removing and reinstalling it correctly, and arranging the wiTECH initialization after reinstall. If any one of those steps goes wrong, the warning light may return and the process begins again.
We handle the diagnosis, removal, specialist rebuild coordination, reinstall, initialization, calibration, and final verification in one local shop.
Why the Complete Vehicle Matters
- The original fault is professionally confirmed
- Power, ground, wiring, and sensors are checked first
- Removal and reinstall are handled by technicians
- wiTECH initialization happens at our shop
- A post-repair scan and road test verify the result
Jeep, Ram, Dodge & Chrysler Models We Most Often See for This Problem
This is a Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep problem — not just a Wrangler problem. ABS-module and HCU concerns show up across several Stellantis platforms, and we diagnose and repair the same fault families on all of them.
- Wrangler JK (2007–2018) — the generation most affected by the current Mopar module backorder, particularly 2011–2018 vehicles. We service both the ABS control module and the pump/HCU assembly, which are separate parts with different part-number families.
- Wrangler JL: 2018–present models, including later modules with Secure Gateway requirements.
- Grand Cherokee: 2011–2022 vehicles with several possible ABS and HCU concerns.
- Other Jeep Models: Cherokee and additional Jeep platforms are evaluated by VIN, module, and fault code.
- Ram 1500 (model year 2019 and 2021–2024) — if the ABS or ESC warning is on, we diagnose first. If the VIN is covered by an open recall, dealer software updates are free — please take it to a Ram dealer for that step before paying us for related work.
- Dodge Durango (2011–2020) — shares the Grand Cherokee ABS/HCU platform; we diagnose module and HCU concerns by VIN, fault code, and part number. If the VIN has an open recall, the authorized dealer remedy is free.
- Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger — also covered; same wiTECH 2 diagnostic and initialization platform for ABS diagnosis and module work.
If your vehicle is covered by an active safety recall, we will recommend visiting an authorized dealer for the free remedy first. You can check your VIN at NHTSA.gov/recalls.

Jeep ABS Module Repair Cost
$149.99 flat diagnostic fee: Covers the vehicle scan, physical inspection of the ABS harness and connectors, wheel-speed sensor checks when indicated, and a written diagnosis.
If the ABS module is the confirmed repair, we quote one written total before work begins. It covers the specialist bench rebuild of your original module, removal and reinstall labor, wiTECH initialization, brake-pedal calibration, post-repair scan, and road test.
Module warranty: The rebuilt module carries a 180-day parts warranty from the rebuild partner. AutoWorks provides a separate labor warranty covering our removal, reinstall, and initialization work; the exact terms appear on your repair order.
If the problem is not the module—a sensor, hub, connector, or wiring repair—we quote that job separately. There are no surprise change orders; additional work requires your authorization.

Jeep ABS Repair FAQ
My dealer says the ABS module is on national backorder. Can you actually fix it?
Yes, in many cases. When the ABS control module is the confirmed fault and Mopar cannot supply a new part, we remove your original module, coordinate a specialist rebuild, reinstall it, and perform the required wiTECH initialization and brake-pedal calibration in-house. Your Jeep stays in Tampa while the module is rebuilt.
How long does the whole repair take?
The vehicle is typically at our shop for about one to two weeks from drop-off to pickup. Diagnosis and module removal happen in the first day or two, the specialist rebuild of the module runs on the rebuilder’s queue, and reinstall, initialization, calibration, and a road test complete the job. We give you a specific target date after diagnosis, once we’ve confirmed the module part number and the rebuilder’s current queue.
Do I need a Jeep dealer for initialization after the repair?
No. AutoWorks operates a licensed wiTECH 2 aftermarket subscription with Stellantis Secure Gateway access, allowing us to perform the required initialization and brake-pedal calibration at our shop.
Is my Jeep drivable with the ABS light on?
An ABS warning means an important safety system may not be operating normally. If the brake or traction-control warning light is also on, the speedometer drops to zero, braking feels different, or the vehicle enters limp mode, do not drive it. Call us first or arrange a tow.
Do you work on Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles?
Yes. The same wiTECH 2 diagnostic and initialization capability used for Jeep vehicles covers many Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, and other Stellantis platforms for ABS diagnosis and module work.
What if my Jeep has an active recall?
Take it to an authorized Jeep dealer first. Recall work is free and only an authorized dealer can perform the official remedy. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov/recalls before paying for related work.
